David E. Frost, DDS, MS
Dr. Frost obtained his BS from Texas A&M University, his DDS from Baylor College of Dentistry and completed a General Practice Residency in the United States Air Force. Dr. Frost completed his Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Residency at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1980. He was a Morehead Fellow during residency. Dr. Frost continued his training with a fellowship at UNC Chapel Hill and at Canniesburn Hospital, Scotland, in 1981. Dr. Frost has served as an examiner, director and President of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. He is Past-Chair of the Board of Directors of the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Foundation and Chair Emeritus of the Board of Directors of Health Volunteers Overseas. He serves the specialty on numerous committees and organizations nationally and internationally. He is President-Elect of the Southeastern Society or Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons. He has volunteered and led surgical groups in Nepal, India, Chile, Peru, Cuba and Vietnam. Dr. Frost is an Adjunct Associate Professor for the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at UNC Chapel Hill and is the National Civilian Consultant to the Surgeon General for Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery for the United States Air Force. He has published over 40 scientific articles and 18 books or book chapters and mentored numerous residents in research projects which have lead to Master degrees. He has a clinical interest in orthognathic surgery.
